THE SACKLER AWARD

The Sackler Institute Award supports research on the early developmental processes related to psychiatric illness and normal development. The proposed studies should be directed at gaining a better understanding of fundamental developmental processes at the cellular, organismic or clinical level and should be relevant to the etiology of psychiatric conditions. The award provides one year of salary support for a postdoctoral fellow or faculty member at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University. The Endowment provides $50,000 for the first year, for salary and Columbia fringe benefits, if applicable. The money can also be used to support a research assistant but not to cover any other items such as supplies, animal care costs, etc. Renewal for one additional year may be granted by the Award Committee, according to the scope of the project and its progress in the first year.

Please see application instructions below.
